Too choppy!!

Yesterday was fun at Buena Vista (BV). The guys and their sons spent Friday night in Ryan's tent trailer by the lake. Us gals and the babies met up with them Saturday. They made some wakeboarding runs that morning before we arrived. By the time we got there the boat traffic had picked up and the water became very choppy. Ryan wanted one last run before he left, but didn't last long because of the water. Later Dan made a run, but to no avail. So the majority of boating was spent pulling the tube, which the kids loved. Here are some shots of Ryan and Dan before they gave up.

This picture cracks me up

At Buena Vista we go as families and play a lot. This lake has a great shoreline that is shallow for a ways out there. Ok, let's be honest, the entire lake is shallow. The kids are able to play and they have a great time. Us ladies spend most of the time on the shore watching children and gossiping (Oops! Did I say that out loud? No, you must have read my mind.) or making fun of our husbands while they are out wakeboarding. We'll usually take a run with the kids for some tubing. That's fun. Even when Janna drives that darn boat as fast as she can while I'm being pulled in the tube. She thoroughly enjoys torturing me.

When the dad's are out they will go along the shore with a wakeboarder behind the boat. I think it's hilarious when they splash the kids. Sometimes our clueless children don't even notice until it's happening. They really are some of my favorite pictures. Yep, you're right - I don't always enjoy seeing a series of play by play pictures of the guys riding. Seeing as how each guy can make a couple of runs and pictures have got to be taken of each run. We wouldn't want to miss anything now would we?!!! (You read my mind again - stop doing that! Hee Hee)

Vacation!!!

In my last post I mentioned going to Lake McClure and staying on a houseboat. If there is any vacation to be had, of course, it has to be where a lake is nearby so we (the guys) can play (wakeboard) to our hearts content. We went the first week of October 2006. Another family was supposed to go with us, but they backed out at the last minute. Unfortunately for them, they didn't get their money back. So we enjoyed a less crowded houseboat without the extra cost.

The weather was not extremely hot or cold. It did get chilly at times and the water was kind of cold, but that didn't stop us from going down the slide and playing. The kids didn't play in the water as much as we thought they would. Never the less, it was fun!!!

We tried some doubles and triples while wakeboarding. Maryn wasn't exactly thrilled that she was forced to do it, but it was cool to watch. Dan and Justin enjoyed some gorgeous water. They found a cove with water like glass. The lake wasn't busy at all so the water was awesome the entire week we were there. On more than one occassion Justin and Dan walked in looking exhausted. However, after a dip in the hot tub and getting a bite to eat they were back out again whether they wanted to or not.

Our kids loved it even though they had to do an hour of homework each morning. We've decided houseboating is just awesome and we'd love to do it again. So, if there are any of you who want to go and then back out at the last minute so we don't have to pay more, just let me know!! LOL!

Wakeboarding anyone?

Justin's brother Brian came into town last week. They went to the lake every day he was here. That's a lot of wakeboarding. I think Janna said they were actually tired by Wednesday, but went anyway because it was there and he was in town and they'd be doing the lake a disservice if they didn't go. That reminds me of when we went to the lake with the Peterson's in October 2006. We rented a houseboat on Lake McClure. The boat was tied to the back of it when it wasn't in use. By the third day Dan and Justin were exhausted and not feeling all that great. However, we paid for that houseboat and made the trip and they just couldn't let a day go by without getting out in the water. Janna and I just laughed as we watched them ride away to wakeboard yet again. Because heaven forbid we just hang out on the houseboat and play with kids or swim in the lake when perfectly good wakeboarding could be had. Here's a couple of pictures of Brian and Dan.
